No, I haven’t forgotten the Wargame Ranking project

I’ve pulled the top 1000 wargames off BoardGameGeek with the following criteria:

At least 10 votes, no expansions, game indicated as a “wargame.” Yes, this is going to pick up games like Wallenstein.

I didn’t exclude miniatures from this, as I don’t trust the metadata in the BGG database to exclude games like Field of Glory while still including something like Tide of Iron that might have miniatures, but isn’t really a “miniatures” game.

While I’m not using BGG rankings as anything more as source material for my end results, I can’t imagine any game that would end up in the top 50 rankings not appearing in BGG’s top 1000.

The next step is to portion that list of 1000 games out among the various sublists I’ve already detailed. Once that’s done, I can start tackling the sublists one-by-one.
